Moonbell es un generador automatizado de música que reproduce registros musicales basados en datos topográficos lunares obtenidos por el explorador Japonés Kaguya (SELENE) durante su órbita alrededor de la luna desde fines del 2007 hasta Junio del 2009.

Moonbell, que fue desarrollado en cooperación con la Agencia de Exploración Aeroespacial de Japón (JAXA), tiene dos modos de reproducción: “Orbit Play” y “Free Scratch.” Presiona los botones del extremo inferior derecho para cambiar de modo.
En el modo Orbit Play, Kaguya atraviesa la luna en una órbita circular y la música es generada basándose en la topografía, y el correspondiente mapa de anotación musical. Con el mouse puedes cambiar la ubicación y la órbita de Kaguya.
En el modo Free Scratch , puedes usar tu mouse para establecer un patrón a través de la superficie de la luna. La música correspondiente se reproduce en un loop, independientemente de la duración del patrón. Las notas se visualizan como diferentes colores y patrones en la pantalla.
Para cambiar las salidas de audio, haz click en el botón “Preference” en el extremo inferior izquierdo de la pantalla. Esto abre el panel de configuraciones, donde puedes elegir entre 128 instrumentos musicales para cada pista, cambiar la velocidad de reproducción, el volumen de cada instrumento, y más.
Wearable Forest, creado por Ryoko Ueoka, Hiroki Kobayashi y Michitaka Hirose de la Universidad de Tokyo, es un vestido que interactúa bio-acústicamente con un bosque remoto.
El vestido dialoga con la vida salvaje lejana, situada en cualquier parte del mundo, a través de una conexión a internet que carga sonidos en tiempo real al vestido.
El vestido Wearable Forest dress visualiza los sonidos recibidos con luces LED, dibujando distintos patrones de luz en la tela. Sus parlantes incrustados le dan una dimensión auditiva adicional al vestido.
La interacción del vestido con el ambiente le da al usuario la oportunidad de sentirse unificado con la naturaleza, aunque se encuentre en medio de la ciudad. El sistema de sonido interactivo crea un sentido de unidad entre el usuario y un paisaje sonoro remoto.

Aviones, misiles y otros armamentos que desviaran o evitaran la detección de radares fueron clave en la carrera por la supremacía del mundo. La evasión de detectores, o tecnología de sigilo (stealth technology), fue uno de los muchos “avances” de la Guerra Fría.
En el Stealth project, dos grillas de gatillos detectan y cargan misiles a través de un espacio 3D abstracto, una contra la otra, intentando evitar la detección de radares y aniquilar a la oposición.
Sin embargo, en contraste con la locura de destrucción mutua asegurada de la carrera armamentista, esta pieza actua como un instrumento musical colaborativo- cada “misil” emite sonidos basados en su posición relativa y las condiciones que encuentre a los largo de su trayectoria.
El Stealth Project fue desarrollado como una derivación de ‘Ocean of Light’, un proyecto de investigación explorando las posibilidades creativas de las técnicas de visualización volumetricas (o 3D), y la interacción tridimensional no táctil.
Experimentos recientes de Squidsoup utilizando un Baby NOVA (la pieza central de este proyecto) sugirieron que este tipo de grilla tridimensional tiene un potencial considerable para aplicaciones de juegos abstractos.
NOVA, la primera pantalla de video a todo color de LEDs de colores reales, fue concebida para visualizar información científica dinámicamente en tres dimensiones. NOVA es modular y expansible – un sistema NOVA instalado en el tren principal de Zurich mide 5 x 5 x 1m y consiste en 25,000 puntos de luz en un espacio 3D.

Now let’s say you’re invited to be on Oprah
And you don’t have a problem
But you want to go on the show, so you need a problem
So you invent a problem
But if you’re not an expert in problems
You’re probably not going to invent a very plausible problem
And so you’re probably going to get nailed
You’re going to get exposed
You’re going to have to bow down and apologize
And beg for the public’s forgiveness.

Now on these shows, the shows that try to solve your problems
The big question is always “How can I get control?
How can I take control?”
But don’t forget this is a question for the regular viewer
The person who’s barely getting by.
The person who’s watching shows about people with problems
The person who’s part of the 60% of the U.S. population
1.3 weeks away, 1.3 pay checks away from homelessness.
In other words, a person with problems.
So when experts say, “Let’s get to the root of the problem
Let’s take control of the problem
So if you take control of the problem you can solve the problem.”
Now often this doesn’t work at all because the situation is completely out of control.

So who are these experts?
Experts are usually self-appointed people or elected officials
Or people skilled in sales techniques, trained or self-taught
To focus on things that might be identified as problems.

The expert is someone who carries malpractice insurance.
Because often the solution becomes the problem.

Now sometimes experts look for weapons.
And sometimes they look everywhere for weapons.
And sometimes when they don’t find any weapons

And other experts looking for weapons find things like cleaning fluids.
And refrigerator rods. And small magnets. And they say,
“These things may look like common objects to you
But in our opinion, they could be weapons.
Or they could be used to make weapons.
Or they could be used to ship weapons.
Or to store weapons.”

And flatten it. And ruin it. And create havoc and civil war in that other country
If the experts say that it’s not a problem
And everyone agrees that they’re experts good at seeing problems

And holds citizens without cause or trial and sets up military tribunals
This is also not a problem.
Unless there’s an expert who says it’s the beginning of a problem.
